PATEK PHILIPPE ONLY WATCH MODELS THROUGH THE YEARS

Only Watch is a charity auction that has been taking place every two years since 2005. It helps fund research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a degenerative neuromuscular disorder that befalls one out of every 3500 children, adolescents, or young adults around the world. For the 10th edition of Only Watch, Patek Philippe has chosen to highlight its know-how in the field of striking watches by reinterpreting the Grande Sonnerie reference 6301, an exceptional watch launched in 2020, combining a Grande Sonnerie (the “grail” of acoustic functions), a Petite Sonnerie and a minute repeater. The unique piece created for the 2024 sale constitutes the very first version of the reference 6301 in steel – a metal very rarely used on Patek Philippe Grandes Complications. It is also distinguished by its highly crafted dial, a Rare Handcrafts dial with hand-guilloched swirling pattern visible beneath a Grand Feu blue green enamel, using the traditional flinqué enamel technique. Beautiful plays of light, enhanced by 12 baguette diamond indexes. The elegant polished steel case features a concave bezel and hollowed, satin-finished sides. The manually wound caliber GS 36-750 PS IRM (703 components) stands out with its three classic gongs, its two patents linked to the striking mechanism and its patented jumping seconds at 6 o'clock.

COMPLICATED DESK CLOCK

Showcasing exceptional craftsmanship, this masterpiece is driven by the advanced manual caliber 86-135 PEND IRM Q SE, offering a range of sophisticated complications including a perpetual calendar, moon phases, and a 31-day power reserve. Built from 919 meticulously engineered parts, the movement reflects seven years of innovation and includes nine patent applications, guaranteeing precision to -1/+1 second per day. Inspired by a 1923 desk clock made for James Ward Packard, the 925 silver case with American walnut veneers adds a touch of elegance, while the yellow-gilt opaline dial completes the refined design. GRANDE AND PETITE SONNERIE MINUTE REPEATER

Elegance and craftsmanship converge in this exceptional timepiece, featuring baguette-cut diamond hour markers (0.45 ct) and an 18K gold dial plate. White gold faceted “Dauphine” hands and a jumping small seconds at 6 o’clock complement its refined design. The polished steel case boasts a sapphire crystal case back with the inscription “Only Watch 2024” and is paired with a striking blue-green patinated alligator leather strap. Powered by the manual Caliber GS 36-750 PS IRM, the watch offers a grande and petite sonnerie, minute repeater, and a 72-hour movement power reserve. Ref. 6301A-010

GRANDMASTER CHIME

Launched for Patek Philippe's 175th anniversary in 2014, the Grandmaster Chime became a regular collection piece in 2016 with 20 complications, including two patented world firsts: an alarm that chimes at a preset time and a date repeater that sounds the date on demand. The watch, created for Only Watch 2019, features a stainless steel reversible case with a guilloched hobnail pattern and exclusive golden opaline and ebony-black dials. It also has “The Only One” inscription on the alarm dial and is paired with a hand-stitched black alligator leather strap. Ref. 6300A-010

GRAND COMPLICATIONS

Patek Philippe participated in the 7th Only Watch auction with a unique Ref. 5208 Triple Complication wristwatch, the first and only version in titanium, featuring a minute repeater, monopusher chronograph with 60-minute and 12-hour counters, and an instantaneous perpetual calendar with day, date, month, leap-year, and day/night indicators. The 42 mm titanium case houses a blue dial with a hand-guilloched "Carbon" motif, gold indexes with luminescent coating, and an 18K gold dial plate. The self-winding caliber R CH 27 PS QI movement, visible through the display back, includes black rhodiumed bridges and a hand- guilloched platinum mini-rotor. The watch is finished with a blue Cordura strap and fold-over clasp. Ref. 5208T-010

GRAND COMPLICATIONS

The Patek Philippe Reference 5016, a Grand Complication classic from 1993 to 2011, combines three highly coveted complications: the tourbillon, minute repeater, and perpetual calendar with moon-phase display. Its perpetual calendar features a retrograde date hand that resets to the 1st of the month via a mechanism controlled by a spiral spring. Powered by a hand-finished movement with 506 parts, the 5016A was specially crafted for Only Watch 2015, making it the only version produced in steel. It boasts a blue enameled dial, gold Breguet numerals, and a navy blue alligator strap. The case is 36.8 mm, steel, and humidity- and dust-protected. Ref. 5016A-010

PERPETUAL CALENDAR

One of the great classics of the Patek Philippe Grand Complications collection between 1995 and 2011, Reference 5004 embodied the traditional, manually wound chronograph at its highest level. Its Caliber CHR 27-70 Q is based on a “Nouvelle Lémania” movement, produced exclusively for Patek Philippe and completely reworked in the company’s workshops, to which Patek Philippe’s engineers and master watchmakers have added a sophisticated split-seconds mechanism and a very fine perpetual calendar. The movement comprises 407 parts, meticulously finished by hand according to the workshops’ time-honored methods. This Only Watch 2013 special piece is the first and only version ever produced in titanium. Ref. 5004T-010
